Why I’m Walking for Bravehearts This February
This February, I’m joining the Willow Childminding step and walking challenge to raise funds for Bravehearts, an organisation dedicated to child protection and abuse prevention.
I’ve chosen to support Bravehearts because child safety is something I care deeply about, both personally and professionally. Their work focuses on prevention and education, helping adults and communities build the confidence to have the right conversations, recognise risk, and take action to protect children. That matters, because protecting kids is everyone’s responsibility, and prevention starts with awareness, strong relationships, and a willingness to speak up.
This aligns strongly with us at WA Mental Health. Every day we see how safety and connection shape a person’s wellbeing across the lifespan, and how early support and protective environments can change the direction of a child’s life. Supporting Bravehearts is one small but meaningful way to back a cause that strengthens families and communities and helps keep children safe.
I’m also proud to be supporting Willow Childminding, who are initiating this fundraiser. Willow is led by the amazing Jaida Bradbury (my daughter), and I’m incredibly proud of what she is building. She leads with warmth, responsibility, and genuine care, and she sets a high standard for what families should be able to expect from childminding, safe hands, strong values, and a whole lot of heart. This fundraising challenge reflects exactly what Willow stands for, community, protection, and doing what we can to make a difference.
If you’d like to support the fundraiser, you can donate via my page and share it with your networks. Every contribution, big or small, helps.
Thank you for walking alongside us in spirit this February. 💛👣
