our 777 legends

Runners who conquer the 777 Marathon National Challenge become '777 Legends'. Running seven marathons in seven cities in seven days is an incredible accomplishment, as is raising significant funds to support the prevention of child sexual abuse! Meet some of our past 777 Legends below.

FEATURED LEGEND

MEGAN PURTON   I   1 TIME 777 LEGEND (2026)

Megan Purton first took on the 777 Marathon as a State Runner in her home state of Tasmania. With the support of her family, Megan set herself the enormous goal of completing the 2026 777 National Challenge. She trained hard, fundraised even harder, and ultimately raised more than $30,000.

As a mum who describes herself as 'no athlete, just a mum who enjoys running', Megan wanted to show her children that you can do hard things. The week pushed her physically and mentally, but her purpose kept her moving: protecting children and helping people understand the importance of Bravehearts’ work. Her journey is a reminder that you don’t have to see yourself as an elite athlete to take on an extraordinary challenge - sometimes you just need a reason that matters enough to keep going.

FEATURED LEGEND

GLENN EDMONDS   I   2 TIME 777 LEGEND (2025, 2026)

For Glenn Edmonds, the 777 Marathon is about so much more than running. After joining the National Team, he quickly discovered the incredible sense of community, camaraderie, and team spirit that makes the 777 so special.

With the support of his community in the Bega Valley, Glenn raised over $45,000 for Bravehearts in his first year as a National Runner, which is an incredible achievement.

Glenn returned to the National Team in 2026 alongside his wife, Tammy, to take on the challenge together.

FEATURED LEGEND

JESS PEIL   I   8 TIME 777 LEGEND (2018- 2026)

Jess Peil is a 777 Marathon veteran, having taken on the National Challenge every year since 2018. She has become a familiar and much-loved part of the 777 family. What began as a personal endurance challenge has grown into a lifelong commitment to Bravehearts and the children their work supports. Together with her community, Jess has raised over $600,000 for Bravehearts - an incredible contribution built one kilometre, one conversation and one fundraising campaign at a time.

Jess knows better than most that the 777 is tough. Yet she keeps coming back because the purpose behind every kilometre means more to her than the challenge itself. For Jess, the 777 is proof that ordinary people can do extraordinary things when they have a cause they believe in, and that every step can help create a safer world for children.
