Terms and Conditions 2025
By registering to participate in Bravehearts’ 777 Marathon, you confirm you have read, understood, and agree to the following Terms and Conditions:
Definitions:
Bravehearts (Us); Bravehearts Foundation including its employees, volunteers, sponsors, contractors and/or agents and/or service providers.

The Event; Bravehearts’ 777 Marathon 2025
- By registering as a National Marathon Participant, you agree to:
Being 18 years or older as of 20th June 2025.
Pay a non-refundable registration administration fee of $50.
A financial commitment to fundraise the sum of a minimum of $11,000 per participant. You understand that approximately 65% of this sum will help cover the overall costs associated with the running of the event whilst, Bravehearts actively continues to seek sponsors for the event in order to minimise this outlay. You agree that Bravehearts reserves the right to cancel your registration and participation in the event should these milestones not be met.
- Raise 30% of the agreed fundraising target by 28 February 2025
- Raise 50% of the agreed fundraising target by 30 April 2025
- Raise 85% of the agreed fundraising target by 31 May 2025
- 100% of the agreed fundraising total banked by 16 June 2025
- All funds raised by participants will be utilised nationally according to the needs of Bravehearts’ operations and at the discretion of the organisation to serve Bravehearts’ Mission ‘To provide a coordinated and holistic approach to the prevention and treatment of child sexual abuse, and Vision ‘A world where people, communities and systems all work together to protect children from sexual abuse’ .
- Participants who wish to apply for a grant will carry sole responsibility for the entire grant application process. Bravehearts will not take carriage for any grants that are applied for and are successful. The grant applications submitted by participants will be managed solely by you with no assistance from Bravehearts.
- The Event is a running event, however, Bravehearts has made the following allowances: enough time to allow participants to walk each event, completing the full 42.2 kms. Different length marathons, with the full marathon of 42.2 km and half marathon of 21 kms (certain states may have slightly adjusted lengths due to course design). Except for injuries in the event week, National Runners must commit to a half or full marathon each scheduled day of the event.
- National Marathon Participants will be allowed until 16 June 2025 to reach the minimum fundraising commitment of $11,000.
- Any funds raised over and above $11,000 will be applied to the current year’s event and will not be carried over towards Bravehearts 777 Marathon in 2026 or future years.
- Participants will not be eligible to compete if they do not meet the above-mentioned fundraising targets and will be notified on the 17th of June in writing of their eligibility.
- Bravehearts reserves the right to exclude participants if they:
- Do not meet their fundraising targets.
- Do not attain a fitness level, as advised by a fitness professional and in consultation with their GP, to complete the marathons. (Proof can be requested by Bravehearts at any time).
- Do not hold current Working with Children and National Criminal Checks at the time of the event.
- If a participant is not able to participate for any reason, either via self-exclusion, or at the direction of Bravehearts or its affiliates, the participant will not be given the option to carry forward any raised funds for participation in the 2026 event.
- Cancellation of the Event. If for any reason, the event is cancelled (including but not limited to Act of God/Force Majure, Pandemic), you will be given reasonable notice dependent on the circumstance. All monies raised will be retained by Bravehearts on the understanding that the Bravehearts’ 777 Marathon is a Braveheart’s fundraising event. Funds raised are for the work of Bravehearts. Funds will not be transferred or utilised for future events. By signing these terms and conditions you confirm your understanding and agreement to these terms.
- You acknowledge and agree that you or your donors will not be entitled to any refund if the Event is cancelled for reasons outside of Bravehearts’ control. You acknowledge that you or your donors will not receive a refund of any funds donated should you cancel out of the event due to any circumstance.
- Bravehearts reserves the right to make changes to the Event at any time, including locations.
- You acknowledge and agree that these terms and conditions are subject to change from time to time, at the discretion of Bravehearts.
- You declare, as a condition of entry in the Event, that you have/will undertake sufficient training for the Event and that you are not aware of any illness or injury.
- Should a participating athlete wish to travel with a partner or support person, Bravehearts will supply the participant with all the relevant flight and accommodation information. The non-participant will be solely responsible for payment and booking of all airfares, accommodation, and food. Should there be available space on the transfer bus, the non-participant is welcome to travel with the athletes. If not, they will also be solely responsible for arranging their own way to and from airports, accommodation, and event locations.
- Accommodation is based on twin share. Should you prefer a single room, you will be required to fund the additional costs, over and above the fundraising target. Single or additional rooms are subject to availability.
- You must declare any physical disability or impairment which may cause you injury or harm during or because of event participation.
- No running will be allowed prior to the official start time of the marathon. All runners MUST start together each morning.
- Any sponsorship received by runners from a business or individual – even if generated through the provided sponsorship suggestion document – is to be seen as sponsorship of the runner (you), NOT Bravehearts, or the event. Bravehearts will not guarantee any promotion of these partnerships unless prior consent has been sought.
- Media coverage is an important part of this event;
- As a participant, you permit Bravehearts to publish your name and photo in any related marketing and/or media materials for the event.
- Personal stories will not be published without the written permission of the participant and will always be done in conjunction with the Bravehearts media team, any media contractors we are assisting, and the full support of Bravehearts as an organisation.
- Bravehearts must be made aware prior to any individual, or anyone acting on behalf of an individual, contacting the media.
- Bravehearts must also approve any individual commentary to the media to ensure consistency with Bravehearts key messaging. No participant may speak to the media about the event without the prior written consent of Bravehearts.
- Bullying and harassment will not be tolerated by Bravehearts. Bravehearts recognises that bullying and harassment may involve comments and behaviours that offend some people and not others. Bravehearts accepts that individuals may react differently to certain comments and behaviour. That is why a minimum standard of behaviour is required of participants. This standard aims to be respectful of all other participants, staff, and volunteers.
- Bullying: is repeated and unreasonable behaviour directed towards a person or group of persons that creates a risk to health and safety. It includes behaviour that could be considered to intimidate, offend, degrade, humiliate, undermine, or threaten.
- If you are found to be behaving in a bullying or harassing manner towards any individual associated with the event, Bravehearts reserves the right to remove you from the event at any stage, prior or during the event.
