I'm fundraising for...
I'm taking part in Bravehearts' 777 Marathon - 7 Marathons in 7 States in 7 Days - to raise funds for the prevention of child sexual assault and exploitation.
Bravehearts is a charity close to my heart. I currently work in an area that deals with child sexual assault and exploitation, so it makes perfect sense to me to raise money for a charity that seeks to support victims and their families.
The statistics are appalling with 1 in 5 AUSTRALIAN children being sexually harmed by the age of 18, that is 1 in 3 girls and 1 in 7 boys - just take a few seconds to look around and consider what that means to those around you whether those people are friends, family, colleagues or strangers. This is 1 EVERY 2 hours!
But you can support me - please help me meet my fundraising goal by donating online today. In fact, I would love to smash this goal and raise as much as possible to help Bravehearts continue their important work. Every cent helps!
I previously signed up for the Bravehearts 777 marathon 2020, which unfortunately didn't proceed, so I am giving it another crack in 2021. I will be attempting to run 7 half marathons in 7 States in 7 days - which seems a little crazy and maybe it is, but I hope my craziness kicks off some conversations about Bravehearts, what they do and why their work is so important.
Please, please help me stop our most vulnerable from being harmed and exploited! Bravehearts also educate our children in safe behaviours and teaches them that it is ok to say no and to speak up if they are uncomfortable.

Training at parkrun!
Wednesday 24th Feb So I have been going to parkrun EVERY Saturday this year (only missed two - one due to COVID and the other because I got married). I have SLOWLY been improving my 5km time and hit 36min 11 secs last weekend which is my best time for this year. If you go to North Lakes parkrun and see me on course, please say hello.
