My Updates
How it works.
Thursday 31st Oct Bravehearts 777 challenge consists of 7 marathons in 7 days across 7 different states in Australia. All while raising awareness and raising money to protect the kids of Australia. The reason why $11000 is the goal? Is Because this will cover the cost of my participation in the challenge as well as raise a sufficient amount of money for the bravehearts organization.
The challenge commences in June of 2025, which means there is plenty of time to get the donations rolling l, follow the journey and spread the message and awareness and programs bravehearts has to offer for the kids of our country.

Why?
Monday 26th Aug As I have embarked on a journey into fatherhood nothing more has stood out then the protection that children need. It is so vital for their learning and development as a human. This sadly is not so common for so many children in the world. Abuse and more specifically sexually abused children is far too common right in your home country. These are all statistics from the Australian Institute of Health and welfare.
In 2021–22, 11% of women and 3.6% of men had experienced sexual abuse perpetrated by an adult before the age of 15.
Most recorded sexual assault victims (18,900 victims) in 2022 had an age at incident of under 18 years.
Child sexual abuse is associated with diagnoses of lifetime major depressive disorder, alcohol use disorder, generalised anxiety disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Why is this important to me?
Well suffering from traumatic experiences as a child and as an early teen lead me straight into drug and alcohol abuse as a teenager and into my twenties This all hits too close to home for me to not try and take this challenge on and help the children of our country.
After setbacks in my sporting career running in my mid 20's provided me with an outlet to look within myself and ask questions... Big questions. Running improved my overall well-being and continues to do so. Without my mobility and ability to run, depression sharks swarm my brain like a feeding frenzy. Without running there is no hope for me.
For me to combine the two things that are so important to me and possibly create an actual difference and impact in the lives of abused children and in the life of my own is unfathomable.
This is my why.
