9 Weeks
Sunday 7th Feb It’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted and updated everybody I have been focused on training and recovery and trying to juggle it with working. I have a checklist as long as my arm to get everything sorted before I commence my challenge. It was 9 weeks yesterday until I set out. I am happy to report I have at least sorted the route which is probably one of the most important things lol. I shall upload the route by the end of the week. Again if people would like to join me for some kms during the challenge week it would be amazing and received with immense gratitude. To everyone who has donated already thank you so much, your support is greatly appreciated! To friends colleagues and family who have been sharing my page and just supporting me these last few months thank you as well. I could not do this without any of you so infinite love and gratitude to each and everyone of you xoxo. The Challenge and The Why
Friday 1st Jan A few months ago after completing my first ultramarathon I began to think and look for what one I’d do next. I came across Bravehearts’ 777 Challenge and decided due to COVID-19 I would complete a similar challenge but in the State I live, Tasmania. So I decided on April 10 2021 I will begin my challenge of running 7 ultramarathons in 7 days to raise as much awareness and funds as I can for Bravehearts. I will begin my journey in Burnie and complete it in Hobart on April 17. I will run 50kms everyday for 7 days. I want to use my love for running to raise awareness and support for important causes. This is a cause very close to my heart as I am one of the statistics. The pain I will endure in April is nothing compared to the pain experienced by children and adult survivors of sexual abuse. What happened to me does not define me, and I want to let others know I understand the pain and the trauma experienced and I encourage them to take their power back though, remind them it’s not their fault and never was and that life gets better and to never give up and know you are NEVER alone. I am grateful that organisations like Bravehearts exist and this, my fellow beautiful humans is my why. If you would like to support me in any way it is greatly appreciated.I will be sharing these next few months of my training on social media as well as during the Challenge.
