My Why
Why I’m Running the Bravehearts 777 Marathon: A Teacher’s and Father’s Commitment to Protecting Children
As a teacher and a father, my life is rooted in the well-being and growth of children. Each day, I work to inspire my students, help them develop their potential, and prepare them for the future. As a father, I strive to create a safe and loving environment for my own children, nurturing their dreams and guiding them through life's challenges.
That’s why I’m taking on the Bravehearts 777 Marathon this year—running seven marathons in seven days across seven states—to raise awareness and support for an issue that affects too many children worldwide: child sexual abuse.
Why This Cause Matters So Much
As an educator, I’m acutely aware of the need to create safe spaces for children to thrive, learn, and grow without fear. But unfortunately, not all children are lucky enough to have that security. Every day, children fall victim to abuse, many of them in silence. As a father, I cannot ignore the painful reality that children everywhere—perhaps even those close to me—are suffering in ways I can't even imagine.
Bravehearts works tirelessly to protect children from harm, offering prevention programs, education, and support to survivors. The organization's mission resonates deeply with me because, as a teacher, I’m in a unique position to spot signs of distress in children, and I want to ensure that all children—whether in the classroom or in my own family—have the tools and support they need to live safely and confidently.
The Bigger Picture
As a teacher, I strive to shape future generations of compassionate, aware, and empowered young people. As a father, I want to protect my children from the harsh realities of the world. Taking on the Bravehearts 777 Marathon is my way of channeling both my roles into something that can help make the world a better, safer place for all children.
Thank you for supporting me on this journey. Together, we can make a difference.
